He graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Charles had a successful career as a government contractor, living in 9 states. He moved to Aiken in 1989 to work with the Savannah River Site, retiring in 2000. He was an active member and former deacon of Millbrook Baptist Church until his health declined. He was a member of the Aiken Masonic Lodge 156 AFM.Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Gini; three children, Pamela Blane (Steve), Aiken, Mark Pegg (Emily, deceased), Murfreesboro, TN, Cheryl Pegg, Aiken; five grandchildren, Christopher Pegg (Lindsey), Kyle Blane, Cory Blane (Brooke), Ryan Blane (Janna), Hadley Pegg; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Joe Pegg (Yaeko), Memphis, TN.A memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 11th at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters officiating.
