NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Claude James Johnson, 87, beloved husband of Anne Treadaway Johnson, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 in Wellstar MCG Hospital, Augusta, GA.
A native of Cloquet, MN, Claude was a son of the late Claude Augustus and Grace Cajune Johnson. He served in the United States Army for 25 years, retiring as Master Sergeant. He then worked for Kmart and the V.A. Hospital. He was a member of the North Augusta Chapter of the American Legion and the Gas Car Club, formerly serving as treasurer.
A wonderful husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Anne; his fur baby, Princess Sue Johnson; five children, Claude W. Johnson, Minnesota, Roberta L. Hahn (Steve), Minnesota, Elizabeth J. Young (Joey), Georgia, Earl G. Johnson, Minnesota, Leon J. “Jimmy” Johnson, Minnesota. He was Grandpa and Great Grandpa to a plethora of grand and great grandchildren who called him “Bunk”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Howard G. Johnson and eight siblings.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Shock/Trauma Unit at Wellstar MCG Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
