AIKEN, SC – Cleo Satcher Letbetter, 94, of Aiken, widow of the late Walter Ollie Letbetter, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Cleo was predeceased by her parents, George and Pearl Satcher. Cleo served as a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at ACTS, and was a very active member of Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years. She served as a beloved Sunday School teacher for high school girls and young adult couples, as WMU director, and in many other capacities. She and Ollie, the love of her life, for over fifty years, enjoyed traveling, being with family and friends, and helping others. They were foster parents for several teenage girls. Words cannot describe the magnitude of Cleo’s deep love for her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a confidant and trusted source of wisdom for both family and friends. She is survived by her daughters Kaye Catoe (Woody) and Olline Thomas (Frank);grandchildren, Mark Catoe (Brigitta), Karen C. Emmerton (Brett), Frankie Thomas (Laura), and Chesley Thomas; great-grandchildren, Logan and Blake Thomas, Nathan, Clarie and Caroline Emmerton, Cleo Luisa and Mack Catoe. Cleo was predeceased by her brothers Eric, GC, and Earl Satcher, and her sisters, Zorraine Harrison, Ima Smith and Jewel Smith. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:30 pm at Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Hayne Ave. SW on Saturday, November 18. Dr. Carl (Woody) Catoe will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Cleo's supper club, which began in 1970. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
