AIKEN - Charlie Clifton Alsbrooks, 73, passed away on April 14, 2018, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Francine Harley Alsbrooks. They shared 43 years of marriage together.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 12, 1945, he was the son of the late Reverend and Mrs. Charlie Clifton Alsbrooks, Sr. He graduated from The University of South Carolina and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Certified Public Accountant.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Aiken, where he served as a deacon and church treasurer. He was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his wife, daughters, son-in-laws, and five grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He enjoyed gardening in his yard and taking trips to the beach and mountains with his family. He was also an avid Gamecock fan.
He is survived by his wife, Francine, children Karene (Mike) Abrams, Keri (Kevin) Wilhelm, grandchildren, Brooks and Avery Abrams, and Hyatt, Mason and Hadley Wilhelm. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Orilee (Max) Evington of High Point, Patricia (James) Vaughn of North Augusta, and Cherry Winegard of Columbia, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 4:00 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Aiken. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service.
