Mr. DeHart passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Clyde DeHart was born in West Virginia in 1933. As a young man he worked there on the boat docks for the man that would become his future Father-in-law. While working there, he met the love of his life, Rose Clara Lindsay. Three years later, a pivotal game of checkers sealed the deal and they eloped on October 5, 1954 in Parisburg, Virginia. Clyde and Rose then moved to New Ellenton, SC where they put down roots and started a family.
Upon moving to SC, Clyde was employed by Dupont where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement, he could be found on the lake, in the woods or in his garden as he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener.
Clyde was a dedicated member of Pineview Baptist church for over 50 years and served the Lord in numerous roles. He was the music director while his beloved Rosie was the pianist. He was also a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. They were both faithful followers of God and instilled all of their Christian values into their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
When Rose became ill, Clyde was completely dedicated to caring for her. He was able to keep her at home with him and provide all of her care up until her death in 2003. Clyde knew that Rose was in Heaven, and he had no doubt that upon his death, he would finally be reunited with the love of his life. What an amazing reunion they must have had on March 15, 2022 at 6:28 pm!
The family would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the many healthcare providers that assisted them in caring for our daddy and grandaddy over the last few years.
