Constance "Connie" Christopher Demas

Miss Constance Christopher “Connie” Demas, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Mike Hallman officiating. Connie was born on October 6, 1944 in NYC, NY and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC as a young girl.  At the age of 11 Connie moved to Whitten Village in Clinton, SC where she resided for the next 27 years before moving in with a family in Aiken and later attending the Aiken Adult Development Center, (now TDC). Over the years, Connie has resided in several residential homes operated by Tri-Development Center. For the past ten years Connie’s has lived at Tri-Development Center’s Sudlow Hills CTH II home where she has been quite happy and considered her housemates her family.  She has worked at Tri-Development Work Contracts Division for many years rolling silverware for Outback Steakhouse.  Connie attended Victory Baptist Church for many years and loved her church family. One of Connie’s favorite pastimes was doing beadwork. She would often sit for hours stringing colorful beads and making them into necklaces, bracelets, keychains, and Christmas tree decorations.  She loved giving them to others.  Connie was a member of the National Federation for the Blind and attended meetings when she could.  One of the things Connie looked forward to most was attending Camp Hope annually—she had been attending for over twenty-five years.  Connie was a joy to be around and had a big heart.  One of Connie’s favorite things to say was, “hot dog” when she was excited about an upcoming event or a favorite item on the dinner menu. She is survived by her brother, John C. Demas, Rossville, GA, and several other family members.
