Dave H. Ecklund

GATLINBURG, TN – DAVE HILTON ECKLUND, beloved husband of Susan Marie Ecklund, died suddenly on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at his residence. A native of San Francisco, CA, Dave was the son of William and Shirley Ecklund. He had worked at OPPD, SRS, and AECOM. He was involved in Scouts, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Mountain Rescue in Scotland, and the Sevier County Rescue Squad. Dave was a resident of Aiken for 25 years.  He and Susan moved to Gatlinburg in 2015 to retire in the mountains of Tennessee. Survivors, in addition to his wife Susan, include his daughter, Cathi Grove (Stephen), Aiken, SC; his son, Jon Ecklund, US Navy, Gulfport, MS; his sister, Sue Foster (Keith), Long Beach, CA. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be Monday evening, February 5th at 6 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
