David Marion Isiminger, Sr.

April 11, 1929 — May 14, 2017

AIKEN, SC – DAVID MARION ISIMINGER, SR., 88, beloved husband of Lois Snyder Isiminger, died Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Pruitt Health of Aiken. A native of Washington, PA, David was a son of the late Wilbert D. and Ina Mae Ferrell Isiminger. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in the Strategic Air Command. He graduated from Texas A&M with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1956. David worked his entire career for DuPont and was a Certified Professional Engineer in Delaware and South Carolina. He moved to Aiken in 1984 and was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 156 and a former member of Carolina Squares. He was a Master Mason and was past Worshipful Master of Solomon Lodge # 36 in Newark, DE. His hobbies included woodworking and golf. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 66 years, Lois, include a daughter, Christine Butler (Tommy), Wagener, SC; a son, David Marion Isiminger, Jr., (Kim), Martinez, GA; four grandchildren, Ashley Creely (Christopher), Thomas Butler, Jr., (Melissa), Ben Isiminger, Peter Butler; four great-grandchildren, Aidan, Bonnie, Mary-Lois and Evelyn Creely; a brother, Robert Isiminger, Tallahassee, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Sayre. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, May 17th beginning at 1 o’clock at South Aiken Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 o’clock with The Rev. Dr. Christopher Crotwell officiating.
