NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - David Joseph Siedling, 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home in North Augusta, South Carolina on May 2.
David retired from the Air Force in 2005 following 23 years of honorable service to the nation. David embraced the opportunities to travel and live life to the fullest all over the world as he served. Upon retirement, David remained in Maryland and continued in honorable service to the nation with the National Security Agency. While in Maryland, David met the love of his life, Pam, as well as her son, Nick. A new family was born. David and Pam married then enjoyed their next assignment together in Hawaii before settling in South Carolina.
David was a lover of learning and reading, serving up amazing breakfast food, walks with his dog Sam, and taking care of his loved ones. He left his mark wherever he went and lived life to its fullest.
David enjoyed getting to know people for who they really are, and having a genuine connection with anyone he could. He enjoyed talking with people everywhere and would often share his uncommon wit with everyone he met.
He was strong and gentle, firm yet fair, generous to a fault, and always put the needs of his family and friends and his duty ahead of his own desires. The oldest of his brothers, David was a loving son, grandson, brother, and dad as well as a caring mentor and an uncompromising servant to the nation. He was a role model to so many.
David is survived by his beloved wife Pam, his son Nick, his mother Judy, five brothers William, Don, Jeremy, Robb, Matt, and a sister Cathy in addition to many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, brother & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, May 11th beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home on East Pine Log Rd in Aiken. A memorial service will follow at 2 o’clock with military honors accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
