AIKEN-Mrs. Dell W. Harvey, 97, better known as "Honey" by all who loved her, entered into rest at her residence, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Dell was born in Baxley, Georgia to the late James and Queen Sapp Wright. She has resided in Aiken County since 1952 when she went to work at DuPont as a nurse. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Dell enjoyed traveling, motorcycle rides and loving her family and fur babies. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, David Harvey, six sisters and two brothers.Dell is survived by her daughter Sharon H. Carpenter, two grandchildren Belisa Morgan and David B. Carpenter, two great grandchildren, Emily R. Morgan and Victoria C. (Joseph) Fields. Dell served in WWII as a nurse in India and loved to tell everyone of her many adventures and experiences. After completion of her military career, She returned to Aiken and went to work at EI DuPont as an industrial nurse. She also diligently pursued her BS Degree at MCG. She volunteered numerous hours with Aiken County Mental Health. Dell will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. The family would like to personally thank nurses Kate Aslie and Kim Bange and their staff of caregivers, Cynthia Terry, Stephanie Rocha-Workman, Reanna Antley, Monisha Gunter and Crystal West, of PCM who diligently cared for Dell. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 27th, 2018 from 5 until 7 PM at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd. Aiken, 29803.
