Dennis Earl Schmidt

AIKEN, SC - Dennis Earl Schmidt, age 68, died Sunday morning, November 20, 2022 at his beloved home. He was proceeded in death by his father Earl Schmidt and daughter Danielle Bogardus. Dennis was a veteran of 21 years from the US Navy and had a contract career as an electrical draftsman for many years. More importantly, he was a loving husband, father and lovingly known as Grandpa D. Dennis loved their farm that became known as the Redneck Riviera and was the spot for many family gatherings. Dennis enjoyed using his John Deere equipment around the “farm” and sitting in the barn admiring the fruits of his labor. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and never met a stranger. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Denise Schmidt; along with three children; Bryan Bogardus (Marsha), Dena Reyes (Angel) and Lee Schmidt (Laura); thirteen grandchildren, Troy, Mikayla, Presley, Reagan, Matthew, Brayden, Madelyn, Jaxen, Aliya, Grace, Olivia, Isabel and Bella; mother Pansy Persondek (Alvin); sisters Brenda Poole and Jennifer Johnston (Jerry) and many loving relatives and friends. The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you shall never pass away. A future celebration of life will be scheduled in early 2023.
