Dennis Michael Troy

Aiken – Mr. Dennis “Denny” Michael Troy, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Denny was born in Charleroi, PA, on Sep. 20, 1937, son of the late Cyril and Anna Troychak.  He married Mary Ann Waldeck in 1977, and had two sons, Dennis, II of Palm Desert, CA, and Michael of Deland, FL.

Denny attended Holy Name Catholic School for eight years and graduated from Monessen High School in 1955.   He entered the University of Pennsylvania in Sep. 1955 on an academic scholarship.  He excelled in the classroom and on the football field, receiving numerous awards for his play.  He was inducted into the Friars Honor Society which honored academic and athletic excellence.  He also attended Drexel University for graduate studies.

After graduation in 1959, he entered the business world, becoming Sales Manager for Hallmark Cards.   During his 31 year career, he excelled in sales and received numerous awards for outstanding performances.  He also received the R.B. Hall award which recognized national sales performance.  He achieved this high honor for nine years, the most by any manager ever. 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Shellhouse Funeral Home, with the Reverend Dr. Tim McClendon officiating.  The service will be livestreamed through the following link:  https://iframe.dacast.com/b/156599/c/585060
