Donald Skinner

COLUMBIA, SC - Don Skinner passed away peacefully Nov 7, 2018 in Columbia, SC with family. He was born Oct 11, 1930 in Vernon, Texas to Hosea and Johnnie Skinner. After school he joined the US Air Force becoming a 25-year Veteran with tours of both Korea and Vietnam where he was awarded several medals for bravery including two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. Upon his retirement as CMSgt, he returned to Aiken where he married Miss Harriett Foxworth and where they were active in Rotary, United Way, Salvation Army and his local Purple Heart Chapter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mrs. Harriett Skinner and a brother Aubrey. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and George Custer, son and daughter-in-law Charles and Karen Skinner, daughter and son-in-law Donna and Tim (Dec) Hannan and daughter and son-in-law Karen and Donald Joe Maloy. 3 Grandchildren, Erik Skinner, Kristi Billiu, Dakota Myers and 4 Great Grandchildren, Teagan Pasqual, Xander Skinner, Kyle Billiu and Kira Billiu. Services will be Wednesday, Nov 14th, 1pm at Shellhouse Funeral Home, Hayne Ave. followed by graveside services in Bethany Cemetery with the family receiving visitors for refreshments at his home afterwards.
