Donald G. Swindler

AIKEN, SC – DONALD GENE SWINDLER, 77, beloved husband of Susan Bolander Swindler, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at his residence.

A native of Pratt, KS, Don was a son of the late John and Margaret DuPont Swindler.  He grew up in Kansas, received his undergraduate degree from Kansas City Art Institute and his Master’s degree from MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art).  He lived in Aiken since 1993 and retired from Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site.  Don was a devout Christian and volunteered with Christ Central.  He was formerly active in youth sports, coaching Little League Baseball and church league teams.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 50 years, Susan, include his son, John Swindler (Jessica), Irmo, SC; grandsons, Tyler and Connor Swindler and brother, Jim Swindler (Laurie) of Illinois.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, January 8, 2022 beginning at 10 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11 o'clock with The Reverend Jason Hammersley officiating.
