AIKEN, SC - Dr. James Isaac "Jim" Green, 82, passed away peacefully Friday, February 4, 2022 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Aiken's First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. The service will be livestreamed here, https://vimeo.com/674631814.
A native of Whitmire, SC, Jim was the son of the late Haskell and Irene Shealy Green. Dr. Green was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was an avid Gamecock fan. He earned a Master's degree in Education from Converse College and a Ph.D. Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Green taught high school English, Drama, and Speech and later served as Principal at Palmetto High School and Battery Creek High School. He retired from the Aiken County School District in 1995 and enjoyed several years working and skiing at Killington Ski Resort in Killington, Vermont.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy M. “Dot” Green; two daughters, Janice Green (Felix) Allen, Shorter, AL, Jenny Green (Travis) Fulmer, Aiken, SC; five grandchildren, Morgan Fulmer (Christian) Dohn, Holly Fulmer (Jeffrey) Glisson, Jessica (Dillon) Anderson, Haskell “Lewis” (Melissa) Allen, Rhett Martin (Chelsea) Allen; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Judy (Carlton) Hall, Whitmire, SC, Martha (Willie) Roller, Whitmire, Debbie Green, Whitmire, Myra Jaquins, Greenwood, SC; two brothers, Ronny (June) Green, Guntersville, AL and Randy (Geraldine) Green of Clinton, SC.
