EDWARD E. BOHLKE, 83, beloved husband of Peggy K. Bohlke, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2024.
A native of Milan, IN, Edward was a son of the late Elton Bohlke and Lucille Shazer Bohlke. A proud graduate of Milan High School in the late 1950s, he furthered his education by earning a bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Edward dedicated a significant part of his life to service in the military, retiring as Chief Warrant Officer Four in Army Aviation after two tours in Vietnam. Following his distinguished military career, he became a helicopter pilot with Wackenhut Services at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC.
An avid traveler, Edward enjoyed exploring the world with Peggy. He also found joy in playing pickleball, tending to his yard, and flying small planes in his spare time.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Peggy, he is survived by his son, Dennis E. Bohlke of Jacksonville, FL; his daughter, Kimberly Joy Bohlke or Atlanta, GA. Also, several brothers, and sisters in Indiana and Ohio.
A Memorial Service Celebrating his life will be held Friday, December 20th at 2 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Howard III will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, (woundedwarriorproject.org).
