Aiken – Mr. Edward “Ed/Eddie” Alvin Fowler, 75, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022.
Ed was born in Salisbury, NC, a son of the late James William Fowler, Sr. and Glenna Henley Fowler. He was a Civil and Structural Engineer and retired from Pond & Company. Among many projects during his career, Ed designed the air traffic control tower at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and others like it around the country.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Joy Roberson Fowler; sons, Brent (Jana) Fowler and Andy (Melissa) Fowler; grandchildren, Avery Katelyn Fowler, Lauren Abigail Fowler, Drew Drake Fowler, Addie Grace Fowler, and Hunter Charles Fowler; a sister, Brenda Fowler; and a brother, James W. Fowler, Jr.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Fowler.
A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church located at 961 Trail Ridge Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 with the Rev. Jeff Erbskorn officiating. There will be a visitation and reception for family and friends at the church immediately following the funeral service. A private inurnment will be held in Graniteville Cemetery.
