New Ellenton, SC – Mr. Edwin Breland Caldwell, Sr., 91, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt McAlister officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery, Hwy. 641 (7193 Confederate Hwy.), Ehrhardt, SC 29081. Pallbearers will be Mr. Caldwell’s grandsons.Born in Lodge, SC, Mr. Caldwell was a son of the late Chesley John Daniel and Nancy Breland Caldwell. He spent his career as a grocer and was the owner of the New Ellenton Piggly Wiggly. Mr. Caldwell was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a former Chairman of Deacons.He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Grace Barnes Caldwell; children, Edwin B. (Ponda) Caldwell, Jr., Inman, SC, Chuck Caldwell, Aiken, Pat (Dennis) Adams, Aiken; grandchildren, Mitchell (Tara) Caldwell, Eric (Sarah) Caldwell, Rusty (Krista) Caldwell, Bethanie (Alan) Teuton, Brian (Whitney) Adams; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Donna Rose Caldwell and his 10 siblings.
