Ellen Marie Thomas

AIKEN, SC - Ellen Marie Thomas, 41, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023. She was at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Augusta, GA, Ellen was the daughter of Paul and Joyce Marie Angeley. She will be most remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Caring for her children and grandchildren is what gave her the most joy in her life.

Ellen is survived by her mother, Joyce Marie Angeley, Aiken, SC;  four children; Alishia (Cristian) Hernandez, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, Coby (Evelyn) Thomas, Aiken, Chasity (Chase) Orvin, New Palestine, IN, Hunter Thomas, Aiken; five grandchildren, Kenna Marie Thomas-Maciel, Guinevere Victoria Rose Hernandez, Lucian Thomas, Alora Nicole Orvin, Tatum Paul Orvin; sister, Shannon (Kevin Spires) Rogers-Blackmon; brother, Daniel David (Heidi) Thomas Kimbrel; nieces, Katelyn Saunders, Brooklyn Blackmon; nephews, Landon Kimbrel, Derrick Kimbrel, Gabriel Kimbrel, Liam Kimbrel and Joseph Blackmon. Also surviving is her husband and lifelong partner, Jimmy Thomas.

Ellen was preceded in death by her father Paul Angeley and her paternal and maternal grandparents. 

The family would like to give special thanks to Crescent Hospice for the compassionate care of Ellen in her final weeks.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the family home in Aiken.
