Elouise Key "Ellie" Cheek

AIKEN, SC – Mrs. Elouise “Ellie” K. Cheek, 74, widow of the late Charles “Chuck” Cheek, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 1, 2022 at Green Pond Baptist Church, 2754 Green Pond Rd., Jackson, SC 29831 with the Rev. Kevin Liles officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.

Born in Jackson, SC, Ellie was the daughter of the late Lanzier and Elise Green Key. She graduated from Aiken High School in 1966. Ellie and Chuck then married in 1969 and were married for 25 years until his untimely death in 1994. She worked in various industries including government contracting and insurance sales. Ellie grew up attending Green Pond Church. She will be remembered as a person that always wanted to help others, personally and professionally. She never met a stranger and would always encourage others to succeed.

She leaves behind her son, Ryan (Katelyn) Cheek, Columbia, SC; sister, Minnie K. (Charles) Goodman, Aiken, brother, Harold (Patsy) Key, New Ellenton, SC; sister-in-law, Patricia Cheek, Lexington, SC; several nieces and nephews; her companion, Randy Hileman and special friend, Mary Luther.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ellie was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley L. Key and Mark Key.
