WHEATFIELD, NY - Emery Lee Whitlock, a resident of Wheatfield, NY, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Emery was 83 years old. Mr. Whitlock was born in Aiken, SC on July 7, 1937, to the late Daniel and Annie Whitlock. On September 2, 1961, he married his wife of 59 years, Alice Seigler. In January 1962 he began working at P&H Auto Supply where he was a co-owner and worked for over 43 years. Emery served in the South Carolina Army National Guard for 10 years and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Aiken, SC where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. Surviving are his wife, Alice Seigler Whitlock; daughters Judy (Robert) Sarafin and Ann (Randy) Minter; sons Lee (Jessica) Whitlock and Dan (Wendy) Whitlock; sister Mary Lou Bennett; grandchildren Robby Sarafin, Jake Sarafin, Jonathan Minter, Kasen Minter, Andrew Minter, Catie Whitlock, Colton Whitlock, Curtis Whitlock, Caris Whitlock, Christopher Whitlock, James Whitlock, Jacob Whitlock, Joshua Whitlock, Emery Whitlock, and Elon Whitlock; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Lila Hendrix and Trannie Sorrow; twin brother James Henry Whitlock; half-brother Bill Goldman; and grandson Nicholas Sarafin. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Niagara Falls on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 10 AM officiated by Rev. Curtis King. [M.J. A funeral service to be held at 3 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Lakeside Baptist Church, Clearwater SC with Rev. Mike Catoe officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2 PM and continuing to service time. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Central Baptist Church, Aiken SC. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Central Baptist Church 1652 Wire Road, Aiken, SC 29805. COVID precautions including social distancing and masks are requested for all who attend either church service and the graveside burial. Calvary & Lakeside Baptist churches have extra seating capacity so families can safely spread out on their own for the protection of themselves and others.
