Frances B. Tomlin

AIKEN, SC - Frances Bryant Tomlin, 87, went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2021 with her beloved husband Jim by her side.  She lived a remarkable life with courage and incredible strength having fought Parkinson’s Disease for many years.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was dedicated to her family above all else.

Frances was born March 19, 1934 in Greenville, SC, and where she graduated from Parker High School.  She moved to Newport News, VA in 1955. She retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 1993 after 38 years of service as an Executive Secretary.  After retirement, she moved to Lake Gaston, NC where she resided until moving to Aiken SC in 2004.  She was a faithful member of Millbrook Baptist Church. 

Frances was preceded in death by her parents F. Demos and Annie Tinsley Bryant, sisters Joyce Reynolds, Bobbie Crossley, and brother Alvin Bryant.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband James (Jim) H. Tomlin, Jr. who would have celebrated 68 years of marriage on November 9; her two children, James (Butch) H. Tomlin, III and Vicki L. Fisher (Robert); her grandchildren, Allison M. Baker (Brian) and Stacy Hanna Forsyth (Alan); her great-grandchildren, Aubree, Lucas, and Hayley Baker, Hannah Brinkley, and Ryan Von Dollen; her sisters Evelyn Prince and Lois Lemon.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held Thursday morning, November 18th at 11 o'clock at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Rev. Bill Howard III officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 o'clock.
