AIKEN, SC – FRANK S. DUCATE, 84, beloved husband of Dorothy G. Ducate, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, at his residence.
A native of Jersey City, NJ, Frank was a son of the late Gaetano and Lorraine Ducate. He grew up in New Jersey and was a proud Eagle Scout. He was of the Catholic Faith and served as an alter server growing up. He attended the University of Alabama. He formerly served as a volunteer fireman in Lincoln Park, NJ prior to moving to Aiken in 1968. He devoted 55 years to the Ducane Co. as the General Manager of the family business his father and three uncles founded. He formerly served as President of the Barnwell Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Aiken Sertoma Club. He was an avid golfer. Frank was a member of Woodside Plantation and his claim to fame was playing the Augusta National three times with his son, Gaety.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy; three children, Lorraine D. Criminger, Irmo, SC, Gaetano Ducate (Melissa), Aiken, Nicole Ducate Seebold (David), Taylorsville, KY; granddaughter, Cameron M. Criminger; step grandchildren, Kim and Josh Seebold; siblings, Jeannie Travethan, Naples, FL, Charles Ducate, Naples, FL, Mary Ducate, Lincoln Park, NJ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian A. Ducate.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, May 15th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
A Requiem Mass will be Monday morning, May 16th at 11 o’clock in the Old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on Park Avenue. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org).
