Fred Eugene Wilson

FREDERICK EUGENE WILSON, 89, beloved husband of Katherine Johnson Wilson, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 in his home with his wife by his side.

A native of Frostburg, MD, Fred was a son of the late Fred M. and Bessie Thomlinson Wilson.  He was a graduate of Potomac State College in Keyser, WV.  He proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years before going to work for the State of Maryland.  He retired as Municipal Engineer for Prince Georges County, MD.  Fred was an avid NASCAR fan.  Over the course of his life, he owned several vintage automobiles.  He loved his various pet cats throughout the years.  After retirement He and Katherine together enjoyed cruising in Europe, the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, Canada and Alaska.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 35 years, Katherine is his niece, Virginia Kerth, Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson, Oakville, Ontario, Canada; other nieces and nephews, Kourtney Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Kris Johnson and Karson Johnson.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, December 2^nd from 1 until 3 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Golden Harvest Food Bank (www.goldenharvest.org) or to the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare (www.letlovelive.org) .

Katherine would like to extend her special thanks to Dr.’s Gordon, Frei and Flanders and to the nurses and aides of Crescent Hospice as well as nurse and neighbor Amy Block for their professional and compassionate care of Fred.
