EVANS, GA - GREGORY CLARK FORD, 53, beloved husband of Melissa “Missy” Guess Ford, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022.
A native of Aiken County, Greg was a son of the late Forest Ray Ford, Sr. and Jessie Key Ford. He grew up in New Ellenton, SC and graduated in 1987 from Silver Bluff High School. Greg was a lineman on the first Silver Bluff High School state championship football team. He has lived in Evans, GA for the last 25 years. Greg worked at the Savannah River Site for 32 years and was a manager with SRNS. He was also a small business owner who specialized in home renovations. He was member of Talatha Baptist Church and was an avid Clemson fan. Greg & Missy took a special interest in rescuing and adopting numerous dogs and cats over the years as part of their family.
Surviving, in addition to his loving wife Missy, are his sister, Mignon Ford, North Augusta; his brother, Ray Ford (Christine), Fulton, MD; his mother-father-in-law, Charlotte Rowe (John) Evans, GA; father-in-law Charles Guess (Donna Gail) and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, May 7th from 2 until 3 o’clock at Talatha Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 3 o’clock with The Rev. Trevor Burrow officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare (letlovelive.org) or Talatha Baptist Church Building Fund.
