Hans Martin Geiger

AIKEN, SC - Hans Martin Geiger, 73, died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

     Born November 29, 1945 in Reutlingen Germany, Hans was a son of the late Walter Richard and Hannelore Glock Geiger.  He moved to Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1956 and graduated from McGill University. He was an avid photographer and in earlier years enjoyed diving to take underwater photographs.

     Hans worked at Westinghouse Electric, Waltz Mill Site in Madison Pa and then spent several years in San Jose California with Westinghouse.  He retired from Savannah River Site.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Guy Blankenship.

Survivors include a sister, Susanne (Sue) Geiger Blankenship; a nephew, Kevin Andrew Blankenship (Judy); a niece, Deborah Kaye Blankenship Garrick (Robert); 2 grand nieces Meagan Elizabeth Johnson & Natalie Grace Johnson.

     A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, January 5, 2019 at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Robert Reeves officiating.
