HEBER TRUMAN HERRON entered the gates of Heaven Saturday, August 26, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loving family at the early age of 78.
Heber was born in Aiken, SC on April 25, 1945 to the late John Frederick Marshall Herron and the late Nancy Elizabeth Higginbottom Herron.
He was formally known as “The Coca-Cola Man” after retiring from the Aiken Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 1996. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Aiken Ward.
Mr. Herron spent most of his time with his family and his favorite hobby was cutting grass. It was nothing for him to load his lawn mower up and make his rounds on a Saturday morning. He was well known for his love of horses and his kind-heartened, genuine soul. He instilled in many the love of horses. He left an imprint on everyone he came into contact with and you only had to meet him once to remember who he was.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Herron (William Scott); six grandchildren, Dannon (Brettany) Reese, Brandon (Sarah) Reese, Rebecca (Nathaniel) Meeds, Julia Smith, James (J.T) Smith, all of Aiken, and Marc Kniphfer Jr, of Augusta, GA; seven great-grandchildren, Braylee, Brayden, and Blayne Reese, Connor and Kennedy Meeds, Adalyne and Jonah Britt of Aiken; three sisters, Barbara Britt, Lottie Snipes and Mary Ann (Jack) Lynes of Aiken; and the Mother of his children, Isabelle Owens-Messer of Aiken.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two of his children, Heber Truman Herron Jr. and Mary Alice Smith; five brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends and family Thursday evening, August 31st from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Friday morning, September 1st at 11 o’clock at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Aiken Ward. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on his obituary page.
Pallbearers will be William Scott, Dannon Reese, Brandon Reese, Nathan Meeds, James Smith, and Marc Kniphfer Jr.
