AIKEN- Ludwig H. Hellwig, 96, of Aiken, entered into rest on January 18, 2018. He previously resided in North Carolina and Florida. A native of Stratford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Gustav A. Hellwig and Anna M. Hellwig. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Marilyn L. Hellwig and of recent date, Nancy F. Hellwig, and brothers Rev. Dr. Randolph B. Hellwig of Sun City, AZ, Rev. Gilbert F. Hellwig of Chagrin Falls, OH and Major Gustav Hellwig of Charlotte, NC. Ludwig received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Bridgeport, Master’s Degree from the City University of New York and Juris Doctor Degree. Upon retiring from the legal profession, he joined the adjunct teaching staff at Western Connecticut State University for several years. He was a member of the Army National Guard and a member of several engineering professional organizations. Ludwig was a consultant engaging in product safety management, engineering and product liability legal issues for thirty years. Ludwig’s many hobbies were those of fishing, model railroading, amateur radio operation and extensive research reading. A celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date.
