Hugh T. Harwood

 Hugh T. Harwood, 85, beloved husband of Anne E. “Nancy” Kinane Harwood, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

 Born in Scarsdale, NY, Hugh was the son of the late Robert T. and Lala Lee Chapman Harwood. Following his high school graduation, he moved to Poughkeepsie, NY, where he met Nancy and began a long and fulfilling career with IBM. Hugh retired in 2000 and shortly after relocated to Aiken, SC. An avid tennis player, he enjoyed participating in the Odell Weeks Senior Tennis Group. Additionally, he contributed generously to his community through volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.

 Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, Nancy, include his daughter, Heather Harwood, Millbrook, NY; his son, Robert Harwood (Kristy), North Augusta, SC; two grandsons, Landon Harwood and Hudson Harwood and several nieces. In addition to his parents, Hugh was preceded in death by his brother, Alec Harwood.

 A Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday morning, March 1st at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service at his home.
