NORTH AUGUSTA, SC – HUNTER ASHTON USSERY, 22, died Thursday, February 1, 2018. Born in Augusta, GA, Hunter was a son of Troy Wayne Ussery and Leslye McCullough Ussery. He grew up in North Augusta and graduated from Fox Creek High School. Hunter loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He was employed at Maner Builders Supply for the last four years. He loved the Lord and attended True North Church. Survivors include his mother, Leslye, North Augusta, SC; his father Troy (Maria), Jackson, SC; sister, Katelyn Dooley (Justin), North Augusta, paternal grandfather Wayne Ussery (Sylvia Davis), Aiken; maternal grandfather, Lavern McCullough (Marylynn), Thomson, GA, maternal grandmother, Judith Spivey (Nick Lanzotti), Tryon, NC; step-sister, Iris Glover, Aiken; step-brothers, Curtis Summer (Bethany), beech Island, Slate Summer (Ashley), New Ellenton; step-nephew and step-niece, Romello and Tatiana; niece and nephew, Kooper & Lucas Dooley; uncle, James L. McCullough, Tryon, NC; aunt, Holly Howell (Brian), Moore, SC; great-uncle, Bob Prater (Kathy), Ocala, FL. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Bernice Prater Ussery. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, February 6th beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 o’clock with The Rev. Mark Epps officiating. Interment will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Slate Summer, Curtis Summer, Caleb McElvried, Darren Watkins, Justin Dooley and Jordan Perez. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a favorite charity.
