James "Jim" Henry Crawford

AIKEN - Mr. James "Jim" Henry Crawford, 87, beloved husband of Dorothy B. Crawford, passed away Friday, January 11, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 13, 2019 in Historic Bethany Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service Jim was born in Rutherford County, NC, a son of the late John Henry and Flora Jones Crawford.  He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, and moved to Aiken in 1953.  He worked as a Health Physicist for E.I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant.  Jim was a member of the Health Physics Society, Houndslake Country Club, on the Aiken Area PTA Council, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Dr. Ronnie) Lee, Aiken, Kathy (Robert) Jenkins, Myrtle Beach, SC; a son, R. Kent (Karen) Crawford; grandchildren, Meredith (Lee) Prickett, Allison (Jay) Nelson, Ryan (Stephanie) Lee, Megan (Brent) Collins, Casey Jenkins, Shelby (Matthew) DeMarco, Rick (Brooke) Crawford, Kirstin (Corey) Harper; and 11 great grandchildren.
