Janet Seigler Cogburn

GRANITEVILLE, SC - Ms. Janet Seigler Cogburn, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 9, 2022 at Shellhouse Funeral Home, (Hayne Ave.) with the Rev. Herb Sons and the Rev. Earl Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Franklin L. Cogburn III, Travis L. Fowler, Jaxon G. Fowler, Richard M. McBeth, Anthony T. Benson and John R. Cogburn, Jr. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00-5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Barnwell, SC, Mrs. Cogburn was the daughter of the late Thompson Long and Evelyn Still Seigler.

Ms Cogburn had her own Beauty Shop “Janet’s Beauty Shop” for over 20 years in Belvedere SC, taught at Chris Logan Beauty College, and was the Head of the Cosmetology Program at Ogeechee Technical College.

She is survived by her sons, Frank L. (Rhonda) Cogburn, Jr. Graniteville, SC, Rallie D. (Becky) Cogburn Sr., Macon, GA; grandchildren, Michelle C. (Travis) Fowler, Franklin L. (Brittany) Cogburn III, Paige C. (Rich) McBeth, Kristine L. Cogburn, John R. (Allison) Cogburn Jr., Anthony T. (Alicia) Benson, Rallie D. (Tammy) Cogburn, Jr., Matthew Cogburn; a brother, Tommy Seigler, Augusta, GA and a daughter-in-law, Mattie Cogburn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John R. Cogburn, Sr., and a grandchild, Kasey E. Cogburn.
