Janice Ann Rodriguez

AIKEN, SC - Janice Rodriguez (nee Gilginas), died early Friday morning June 28, 2019 after a prolonged illness which may have taken her life but never took her spirit. 

     Born to Richard and Sophie Gilginas, Janice was raised in Wynnewood, PA where she spent most of her youth wandering the tennis courts of Llanerch Country Club where her father served as President.  A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Bryn Mawr, PA in 1976 and Westchester University in 1980, Janice enjoyed organizing, making schedules, completing tasks and conquering the business world.  Janice owned and operated the Delaware Valley Tennis Academy until she moved across the country working at and/or operating various businesses always making a name for herself as the hardest working employee or owner.  After nineteen (19) years at Showboat Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, Janice set off once again to find her next challenge. 

     At the time of her death, Janice resided in Aiken, South Carolina where she had most recently owned and operated Trio Bar & Kitchen which, under Janice’s steadfast leadership, quickly made a name for itself as the local hot spot and place to be.

     Janice is predeceased in death by her parents, her loving “Grams” Frances Gilginas, and her four-legged children Conan, Isis and Jade all of whom have been patiently waiting for their mother’s belly rubs and treats for far too long.  Janice is survived by her many friends and her four-legged baby, Diva. 

     A memorial service will be held in celebration of Janice’s life Friday morning, July 26^th at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. 

     Memorial donations may be made to Breezy Hill Baptist Church, 612 Ascauga Lake Road, Graniteville, SC, 29829, where Janice found faith and family during the final leg of her journey here with us.
