Jean Byars

BEVERLY JEAN BYARS, 76, passed away Sunday evening, May 21, 2023 in Piedmont Hospital Augusta.

A native of Windsor, SC and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Jean was a daughter of the late John and Inez Youngblood Byars.  She was a member of Windsor First Baptist Church and attended Aiken Christian Church when she was able.

Survivors include her daughter, Emma Thompson, Lexington, SC; her siblings, Wendell Byars, Aiken, Elspye Johnson, Montmorenci, Myra Ridgeway (Brooke), Aiken, John Byars (Karen), Windsor and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Byars and sister, Mary Lou Byars Gray.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 26th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Saturday afternoon, May 27th at 3 o’clock at the funeral home followed with interment in Windsor First Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pastor Keith Ussery will officiate.
