Jean Kilgore Weeks

JEAN KILGORE WEEKS, 92, beloved widow of Preston Howard Weeks, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at National Healthcare, Greenville.

A native of Simpsonville, SC, Jean was the daughter of the late Joe Harris Kilgore, Sr., and Nettie Elizabeth Gresham Kilgore.  She moved to Aiken in 1952 and worked as a kindergarten teacher at South Aiken Presbyterian Church, then as a real estate agent for Harper-Ratchford and Carroway-Skinner Real Estate Companies.  She later worked as a broker with Eulalie Salley.  Jean and Preston were charter members of South Aiken Presbyterian Church where she was named the Presbyterian Woman of the Year in 2010.  She and Preston enjoyed traveling and had visited almost every U.S.  state, as well as thirteen foreign countries.

Survivors include her son, Preston H. “Buddy” Weeks, Jr. (Rosemary), Seneca her daughter, Deborah Jean “Debbie” Weeks, Greenville; and a grandson, Greg Weeks (Erin).  In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Lauren Weeks and her brother, Joe Harris Kilgore, Jr..

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, December 10^th beginning at 11 o’clock at South Aiken Presbyterian Church.  The funeral service will follow at Noon with The Rev. Jason Hammersley officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Greg Weeks, Butch Leonard, David Weeks, Bruce Weeks, Jeff Parker and Terry Aylor.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Phil and Emily Lockard, Melvin Googe, Felder and Dot McLauren, Doris Johnson and Charla Leonard.
