Jackson

JACKSON, WY - Jo Ann Waters Goldberg passed away on October 22, 2023 in Jackson, Wyoming after a brief illness. Jo Ann was born of Dewey Philip Waters and Myrtis Kelley Waters on November 27, 1940 in Aiken, South Carolina.  At death, she was accompanied by her beloved son, Brian Alan Goldberg, and daughter-in-law, Beth Toftum Goldberg of Jackson, Wyoming.

Building on the foundation of a strong work ethic and compassion for others instilled in her by her parents, Jo Ann climbed the heights of success in Atlanta Real Estate. She was a life member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club and was consistently a top agent for Prudential Realty. Prior to her successful career in Real Estate, Jo Ann was a paralegal in the law offices of two U.S. Senators and the Governor of Georgia.

She had a passion for travel, music and art - theater dates and concerts were always on her to-do list. Most of all, she loved and cared for people, always willing to help those in need, to be a sounding board, or to lend a shoulder to cry on. She unfailingly accepted people for who they were, embracing the differences in people no matter their background.  She spent her later life in Aiken to be near her mother and family before her final move to be near her son and his wife in Jackson, Wyoming.

In addition to Brian and Beth, Jo Ann is survived by brother, Jerry Waters and wife Gracie, sister-in-law Phyllis Waters, former husband Sandy Goldberg (Norma), brothers and sisters-in-law Drs. Herbie and Phyllis Goldberg, brother-in-law Eddie Goldberg, aunt Elizabeth Kelly, and nieces and nephews Amy (Rob), Jason (Joy), Cari (Jonathan), Lisa, Hank (Cindy), and cousins and friends all across the country.  Jo Ann is predeceased by her parents, sister-in-law Renae Goldberg, and nephew Dr. Jay (Stacey) Goldberg
