AIKEN, SC – JO ABERCROMBIE ZIEGLER, 66, beloved wife of Joseph D. Ziegler, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her residence.
A native of Chickamauga, GA, Jo was a daughter of the late Jack Avery and Grace Stoker Abercrombie. She graduated from UT Chattanooga with a BS in mechanical engineering. She retired from the Savannah River Site. Jo was a member of the Nose in a Book Club and the American Needle Point Guild. She was an active member and deacon of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Joseph, include two sons, Avery Ziegler (Julie), Aiken, Zach Ziegler, Austin, TX; two grandchildren, Jack Ziegler, Ava Ryan Ziegler; sister-in-law, Rennia Abercrombie, Chickamauga, GA; nephews, Trevor and Tyler Abercrombie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Avery “Chip” Abercrombie.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6th at 11 o’clock at First Presbyterian Church, Aiken, SC with The Revs. Brian Coulter and Holly Shoaf-O’Kula officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Presbyterian Church Preschool, 224 Barnwell Ave., NW, Aiken, SC 29801.
