Joanne C. Ropp

AIKEN, SC - Ms. Joanne C. Ropp, 78, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023.

Joanne was born in Detroit, MI in 1944 to the late Guy and Janet Ropp, Jr. She attended Grosse Pointe High School and graduated in the year 1962.

Joanne's professional pursuits were as diverse as they were impressive. She began her career as a model and assistant buyer at Hudson's Department Store. Her keen eye for fashion and impeccable taste made her an invaluable asset to the organization. Later on, she harnessed her passion for animals and managed a chain of pet stores with great success.

Beyond her professional achievements, Joanne had a unique connection with Yorkshire Terriers. She wholeheartedly embraced this breed and showcased her own line of Yorkies in national competitions. Joanne's dedication to breeding show-quality dogs was met with admiration from fellow enthusiasts. She had made Aiken her since 2008.

Joanne is survived by her brother, Richard Ropp, Aiken.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, August 3, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeff Erbskorn officiating. A reception will be held and announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
