JOHN ALFRED KILLION, JR., 85, beloved husband of Martha Hornaday Killion, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 19, 2024 in his home.
A native of Petersburg, IN, John was a son of the late John A., Sr., and Aileen Killion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. John worked as a start-up engineer and procedure writer, having had a successful career in the nuclear industry. He moved to Aiken in the late 1980’s to work with Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site. He was a Shriner and was very active in the Aiken County Shrine Club.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Martha; two daughters, Connie Broadie, Dawn Killion, all of Aiken; three grandchildren, Cindy Beard, Alec Perkins, Geoffrey Broadie; two great-grandchildren, Dominick and Bentley Killion.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning, June 1st beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11 o’clock with The Rev. Bill Howard III officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children (lovetotherescue.org).
