New Ellenton, SC - Mr. John Yates Smith, 86, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019. Mr. Smith was born in Trenton, SC, a son of the late Marion B. and Myrtis Yates Smith.  He was a lifelong resident of New Ellenton, and retired as co-owner of CSRA Computer Services. Mr. Smith is survived by a daughter, Linda Smith Gay, Chattanooga, TN; a son, Dr. Johnny Y. Smith, Lexington, SC; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held privately.
