JOSEPH W. MESSICK, 78, passed away Tuesday morning, October 8, 2024 in Hospice House of Lexington.
Born in Cambridge, MD, Joe was a son of the late Russell A. and Ruth Longmire Messick. He moved with his family to Aiken in 1952. He retired from Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site.
Survivors include four children, Traci Messick Ritt, Powhatan, VA, Gina Bollig (Kevin), Aiken, Russ Messick (Sheri), Lexington, Cliff Dyches (Heidi), North Augusta; grandchildren, Britney Ritt, Hunter Ritt, Tanner Ritt, Weslei Lowry, Christian Winkler, Alice Dyches, Cole Lemacks, Kathryn Lemacks and Chase Lemacks; great-grandchildren, Brycen, Liam and Kaysen; sister, Susan Ergle, Aiken
In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Messick, son, Joey Messick, Sister, Connie Price.
A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, October 12th at 3 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
