October 24, 1949 — April 17, 2018

LEXINGTON- Kenneth L. “Woody “ White, Jr., 68, beloved husband of Linda Wood White of 49 years, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Columbia, SC he was a son to the late Kenneth L. White, Sr. and Mary Louise Byrd White. Kenneth better known as “Woody” was a graduate of Lower Richland High School where he played football and baseball.  He later went on to attend and graduate Columbia College with a degree in business. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. Woody was an avid photographer and worked many years as a professional photographer for both United Press International and the Associated Press.  He spent many years serving as a mentor and coach to the youth in various sports. Woody enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family. Most of all, Woody loved being an active part of his grandchildren’s lives. He and Linda attended every band competition, orchestra concert, basketball and football game, gymnastics competition, swim meet, holiday, and birthday.     Woody is survived by his wife; son, K.L. “Kent” White, III (Lori) and their children, Shelby, Sawyer and Spencer; daughter, Amberlee (Scott) Roper and their children, Colton, Colby, Reagan, Amanda, Christopher, Christy, Katie and Amy; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Knight; brother, Mitch (Cathy) White and great-grandchildren, Bella, Will, Paisley, Bonnie and Keegan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Chastity Lynn White. The home going celebration service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the chapel of Lexington Baptist Church, 308 E. Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072 at 1 o’clock PM with pastors Mike Turner and Russell Galloway officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438 or the American Lung Association, 44-A Markfield Drive, Charleston, SC 29407.
