AIKEN, SC - Dr. Kimberly Lyn Hammond-Beyer, 67, beloved wife of Carl David Hammond-Beyer, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025.
Kim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1957. She graduated from high school early in West Virginia after many moves as a youngster. She attended the University of Georgia graduating magna cum laude with degrees in Biology and Psychology. While at Georgia she played in the Red Coat marching band and was on the swim team. Kim joined the Peace Corps and was posted in Swaziland (Eswatini) where she met her husband, Carl. Their deep love and caring never ended. She completed studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic and received a Doctor of Chiropractic. She moved to Aiken and opened a practice on Waterloo Street in 1987. She became a cornerstone of chiropractic care in Aiken for over 30 years. She obtained a Rubenfeld Synergy certificate and practiced mind body healing for two decades. Kim became a mother in 1992 which changed her life. She was an empathetic, caring and steady mother. She survived for 25 years with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis which she wrestled with the rest of her life.
Kim is preceded in death by her father Theodore Hammond and brother-in-law Lorin Hammond-Ross. She is survived by her mother Dr. Doris Hammond, her husband, Carl, daughter Kinsey Silvers, son-in-law Allen Silvers and their two daughters Lela and Eliza Silvers, and two sisters Darcy and Lauri Hammond.
Kim was incredibly resilient and worked through several years of health struggles. Kim advocated for causes she was passionate about, cared for her patients, and loved her friends and family fiercely. She lived a full and rich life.
A Celebration of Life service will be from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Outing Club, 142 Outing Club Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
