AIKEN, SC – KNOX RAY JAMES, 81, beloved husband of Dorothy McMahan James, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native Seneca, SC, Knox was a son of the late Calvin Dewitt and Jessie Viola Hightower James. He lived in Aiken since 1962 and retired from Graniteville Company. He was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a former Mason. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Dottie, include two sons, Bobby R. James, Sr., Joey James, all of Aiken; four grandchildren, Brooke Gunter, B. J. James, Nicholas Isaiah James, Hannah James, a great-granddaughter, Aubree James. In addition to his parents, Knox was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, April 24th beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 o’clock with The Rev. Marvin Lee officiating.
