Kurt Allan Friedrichsen

AIKEN, SC - LTC Kurt Allan Friedrichsen, age 80, beloved husband of Sandra Bailey Friedrichsen, died August 7, 2021. Kurt was born in Staten Island, NY to Herman and Ruth Nelson Friedrichsen and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Colorado. He served in the USAF for 27 years: active duty in Strategic Air Command, Mississippi; reserves in Northern Communications Area, NY; Aeronautical Systems Division, Ohio. His civilian working years were spent with GE, in Utica, NY; Teledyne Brown Eng. in Huntsville, AL; Dupont and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. Kurt was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church and the Heyward Class, and he served on several church committees. He enjoyed life, and most of all, he loved his family and was always there for them with a smile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne Ballard Friedrichsen. Survivors in addition to his wife Sandra, include sons Craig Friedrichsen (Michelle), Denver, CO; Todd Friedrichsen (Elaina), Santa Monica, CA; stepdaughter Terri Sanders, Aiken, SC; stepson Jerry West, Graniteville, SC; grandchildren Peyton and Holden Koch, and Dylan Archer, and brothers Eric Friedrichsen (Verna) of Wilton, CT and Don Friedrichsen (Lois) Larkspur, CO and several nieces and nephews.
