Laticia Kitchings Mason

LATICIA KITCHINGS MASON, 84, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024 in Aiken Regional Medical Centers with her loving family by her side.

A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Laticia was a daughter of the late Sidney and Mamie Watkins Kitchings. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication and hard work, particularly during her time at Pat’s Restaurant alongside her twin sister, Pat Lokey. Laticia was known for her strong will and resilience, facing life's challenges with grace and never voicing complaints.

A devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church, her faith was a guiding force in her life. Laticia had a deep love for her family, which was evident in all that she did. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting and was a passionate fan of Elvis Presley.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Ruttle, Spartanburg; her son, Raven Mason (Pat), Aiken; three grandchildren, Jessica Pruitt, Erica Scruggs, Robert Ruttle; eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Lokey, Aiken and Loretta Johnson (Red), Windsor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Burt Lemon Mason; two brothers, Frank Kitchings, Dwight Kitchings and two sisters, Mary Daniels, Nettie Ruth Woodward.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, November 12th beginning at 11 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at Noon with The Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
