Mr. Lonnie Calvin Hickson. 80, passed away Thursday, April 3, 3025.
Lonnie was born in Aiken, son of the late Wallace Dicks and Tearothia Hickson. He retired from the US Navy, he also worked at Westinghouse until his health failed him. Lonnie dedicated his life to Jehovah on June 29, 2013, and has been a faithful servant until he departed this life. As a young man he loved to go fishing and read the Bible. He also enjoyed sharing Jehovah’s “Good News.”
Lonnie was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Rudell Hickson, Wallace Dicks Jr. and Rebecca Thomas. Lonnie is survived by a brother, Clad Belton Dicks, Jamacia Queens, NY; a sister, Rachel Williams (Gene), North Augusta, SC; a sister-in-law, Emily Hickson, Aiken, SC; six nieces, Valerie Myers-Roberson, Aiken, SC; Michelle Williams (Gerald), Aiken, Sc; Beverly Sanders, Aiken, SC; Cassandra Grissett (Kenneth), Myrtle Beach, SC; Sonjie Pearsall (Anthony), Virginia Beach, VA; Kimberly Hickson-Corbitt, New Ellenton, SC. One nephew, Rodney Hickson (Velshonya), Grovetown, GA and several other nieces and nephews. Fifteen great nephews; two great nieces; and several great-great nephews and nieces and a host of loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Lonnie will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2460 Golden Camp Rd., Augusta, GA. Inurnment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, at 1:00 PM.
The family will not be taking visitors at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2460 Golden Camp Rd, Augusta, GA.
