Marie Toro-Lara

AIKEN, SC – MARIE A. TORO-LARA, 83, widow of Louis Lara, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, Marie was a daughter of the late Alfredo and Carmen Palermo Toro.  Her family moved to New York when she was a young child.  She lived most of her life in the Bronx before moving to Aiken in 2000.  She enjoyed life and loved to travel.  Marie was an active member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Diahann and Frank Acosta of Aiken; two granddaughters, Marissa Acosta, Los Alamos, NM and Deanna Acosta, Aiken.

A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon, December 26^th at 3 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Jason Hammersley officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
