AIKEN, SC – MARSHA LYNNE BILL TORMAY, 69, beloved wife of Mark J. Tormay, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Marsha was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Wudarski Bill. Raised in Pittsburgh, she earned degrees at Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh in Library Science and enjoyed a career first as a librarian and then in records management, as well as being a homemaker. She lived with her husband in Manassas, VA for 34 years prior to moving to Aiken in 2012. Marsha was active in community service, devoting herself to shawl ministry at St. Mary's, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, and local SPCA initiatives; in her retirement she adopted two rescue cats and was an avid reader and gardener. She also made chemo caps, sending them to cancer treatment groups for patients of all ages. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors, in addition to her husband Mark, include her daughter, Bethany Ann Tormay Effgen (Ryan), Alexandria, VA; her son, Matthew Evan Tormay, State College, PA; two grandchildren, Bryn and Cameron Effgen; a sister, Lorraine South (Thomas), Ocala, FL; two brothers, Joseph Bill, Summerville, SC, Lawrence Bill (Carol), Pittsburgh, PA. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Monday morning, April 10th at 11 o’clock at the old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on Park Ave with The Rev. Gregory Wilson as Celebrant.
