NEW ELLENTON, SC – MARY ELIZABETH SPRINGS ALLEN, 85, widow of Howard Allen, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A native of McColl, SC, Mary was a daughter of the late James Gillan and Katherine Suzanne Douglas Springs. She lived in Georgetown, SC from 1950 until 1969 when she and Howard moved to Aiken County. She was a seamstress and retired from Aiken Industries. Mary was a longtime member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Eaddy, Kingstree, SC, Patty Hutto (Larry), Aiken, SC, Tina Bryant (Jason), Williston, SC; seven grandchildren, William Coker, Vena Coker, Katy Sue Moody, Tori Hutto, Melanie Schmidt, Amber Harsch, Ana Gibson; eleven great-grandchildren, Shane Hutchinson, Caleb Coker, Avery Coker, Daisey Bibbs, Ben Hinson, Jeffrey Harsch, Olivia Harsch, Nathaniel Gibson, Sadie Jo Schmidt, Noah Loftus, Hayden Gaskins; two great-great-grandchildren, Kimmy Hutchinson, Baylor
Champion. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Moody and a granddaughter, Chasta Coker.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon May 14th beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 o’clock with The Revs. Matt McAlister and Jerry Springs officiating. Interment will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brad Harrelson, Brian Adams, Mike Hutto, Charles Taylor, Nick Hutto and Harvey Coker.
